COCKTAIL BUSINESS
- I have been training as a cocktail flairer since 2007 and flaired regularly at Boiler Rooms, Doncaster, where I was bar manager until its closure in Spring 2009.
- I run a flair cocktail networking and events group called South Yorkshire Flair, which seeks to share the fun and skills of flairing, for both its audience and flairers. Find South Yorkshire Flair on Facebook.
- I also have a budding interest in mixology, training myself and receiving training from some of the countries top mixologists.
- I've gained valuable experience working alongside some the UK's best flair bartenders and attended a flair training course in 2008 run by top flairer, Tom Dyer.
- I have provided consultancy and training for cocktail bars in the north of the UK, creating customised cocktail menus for a number of bars, providing staff training for flair bartenders and advising on how to set up a great flair station in a cocktail bar.
- I am currently training in mixology as well as flair. I have received training from some of the countries top mixologist and I'm also training myself. My goal with this is to become the best bartender I can be!
 GENERAL- I have excellent people skills - able to deal politely and professionally with customers.
- I enjoy working as part of a team.
- Leadership skills: this is an area I've been developing, eg, as bar manager at Boiler Rooms flair cocktail bar, Doncaster.
- I am able to deal with difficult people in a calm but clear way.
- I am honest, reliable and am consistently accurate at the till.
- I have effective selling skills
(which I am always looking to develop further). I have frequently demonstrated
the ability to 'sell up': taking a customer's initial request and
successfully offering them appropriate additions or alternatives.
- I have a good sense of humour, too and have been told I'm a good person to work with in stressful working situations!
- I can develop rapport with a broad range of people.
Also...- Completed several cocktail and flair courses, including Tom Dyer's Creative Bartending School course, 2008
- Intermediate French (studied to AS level) – written and spoken communication skills.
- I have good Maths skills (I studied Maths to AS level)
